001 - Audio

I need more information. If anyone can provide it I would appreciate it.

Where are the nearest villages? Are there roads connecting them and the temple? How long does it take to reach them? Are there maps available? I'm not walking into the jungles blindly, not knowing what to expect first.

[Meth already has her weapons and basic traveling supplies that her capybara's saddlebags hold. She's named him Frei, though he's considerably calmer and steadier than her deity. That doesn't mean she's going to trek through unfamiliar terrain when their hosts are sure to have all the answers to her questions.]

My name is Meth Rezza, for those of you who I haven't met.

[Yeah, that's all she really wants to say to the crowds at large.]

Kat, Liz, I'm heading out tomorrow one way or another, if either of you want to join me.

Let me guess. You don't know what television is, either.

[It's a trend he's noticed. And it kind of irks him.]

I guess you have a point, there. Although deliberately bringing in a comic relief character could be considered a form of comic relief itself.

[Dot dot dot...]

Maybe you're the comic relief. Ooh.

No. Never heard of it. And no I am not comic relief.

[Your nonsensical babbling is starting to get on her nerves, Abed.]

Have you ever considered that perhaps you are the comic relief?

[She has no idea what she's talking about, but speaking in his terms might...work? Toward something? Meth isn't sure.]

[Too bad, Meth, because Abed quite likes you. At least, she's following his thread of meta-thought, which most people just ignore altogether.]

Well, of course. I generally add much needed levity to dramatic situations with my friends. I'm definitely the comic relief sometimes.

[Stick with him, and you'll get a laugh or two. That's the Abed Guarantee.]

But I also do a lot of subtle plot development. It works pretty well with my observational behavior.

[Meth just picked up a stray puppy without realizing it, didn't she?

A stray puppy that is starting to lose her.]

Why do you keep talking about people and life as if it's all just one giant story? The real world doesn't work that way.

[Have some stubborn, it's delicious and not really matured.]

[identity profile] tv-troper.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
[And like any stray puppy, Abed is not about to leave you alone. :/]

On the contrary. Life is just one big story. It's just one that's constantly being told.

...But you're right. Real life isn't television. Television is better.

If it's what I think it is, that depends on whether you think stories created by people are better than reality.

[He has an interesting point of view, if nothing else. Sometimes the crazy ones are entertaining once you get that they're harmless.]

Speaking of reality, are you planning on fighting these monsters we've been brought here to take care of?

[identity profile] tv-troper.livejournal.com 2011-01-21 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that poses a second question. Because all stories are created by people, whether it's reality or fiction. Fiction just makes more sense. It has a structure, while reality is pretty messy and unpredictable.

[Yeah, so maybe he's thought about this before once or twice. Or a lot.

It's anyone's guess, really.]

I'm not really fighter. Not unless the armory has paint ball guns.

[Because heaven forbid Abed try and shoot a REAL gun. Even if he has exceptionally good aim.]
