[The cockatrices are dead, and some of the villagers with them. Both groups found their demise at the hands of the Called, which puts Meth in a rather awkward position.

She's pleased that the threat to the villagers is gone, however at the same time, she finds it uncomfortable to be associated with those who are responsible for the deaths of those they were supposed to protect. No, it wasn't their fault, but it's hard to justify that to grieving families.

In an attempt to gain some space from the mourning villagers, Meth returns to the Temple, intending to stay a few days to gather her thoughts.

Meth is far more used to the problems of a mechanic. Things are broken. Things don't work properly. It's easy to understand her goals in these situations. The life of a soldier is far heavier thing. She's unused to holding the lives of others so directly in her hands.

It's because of these thoughts that Meth makes her way to the bathing house of the Temple. The waters are warm and relaxing and she's sure that for an hour she'll be able to distract herself.]

[Having spent a few minutes stuck as a statue was...something else. Couldn't breathe, couldn't move, couldn't feel her heart beating or blood racing through her veins, but was still completely aware of herself. It was strange, and more than a little bit unsettling.

And this is coming from someone who died, once.

Still, she was back to normal, and as soon as she came back? Liz headed back to her pod and rolled herself a cigarette. She needed it. Badly.

Now, however? Now, Liz is in the temple bath, removing her towel and stepping into the warm water. It's nice, and definitely wanted.

[Meth was surprised to find the temple bath empty for the most part, and relieved that the only person she saw there was someone she knew.

She stripped down and made her way into the warm water with a sigh and called out across the bath.]

Hey Liz.

[She dipped under the water's surface to wet her hair, and slicked it back with both hands as she pushed her head above the water level again.]

[Liz glances over in Meth's direction as the other calls her name.]

Hey. How've you been?

[It had been a while since she last spoke with Meth, after all.]

[It had been a while since most people had spoken with Meth. She had been keeping to herself for the most part, accompanied only by her capybara, Frei.]

I've been fine. Yourself?

[Liz seemed okay at first glance, in any case.]

I was a statue. For a few minutes, anyway. [Something Liz is more than a bit disappointed in herself for, honestly. She was the one in her group who had the most knowledge on dealing with monsters, and she was the first to get taken out.

A personal failure on her part, regardless of whether or not she could have helped it.

[Her eyes widen, and her first words slip out in shock.]

Deities...are...

[Meth clears her throat, taking a couple steps closer in the water.]

Are you okay?

I'm fine now, at any rate. [You'll have to forgive Liz for being even quieter than usual, Meth. She's died, and she's been turned into stone. Quite frankly, Liz is fairly certain that death is the more pleasant of the two.]
